An award like this will help to attract students to the course and this is important not simply to assist its viability but because we believe that the industry (and the wider society) needs the kind of people that we hope will emerge from it.

Each year the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) presents the Happold Brilliant Award to the University Department judged to offer the best balanced accredited course in the discipline.
The prestigious award was first conceived by Ted Happold, and consists of a hand engraved blue crystal column along with £1000. It is presented at the CIBSE annual presidential dinner, which was held at Trinity House on 8th October 2010. The Bartlett School of Graduate Studies, University College London is the winner of the 2010 Brilliant Award for their MSc Environmental Design and Engineering.
