Neil joined Buro Happold in 1986 after studying civil and structural engineering at University College Cardiff. Prior to this Neil worked as a civil engineering technician for Wessex Water and a regional consulting engineer. First working as a Structural Engineer in the Bath office. He spent periods of his career working as a Resident Engineer on site at Heathrow and later in Riyadh where he was responsible for the establishment and management of the design office. Returning to the London office as an Associate in 1993. His ability to expand the business of the company and his talented leadership skills were recognized in 2000 when he was made Partner. He is a Member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers.
Returning to the Bath office in 1994, Neil led the design effort on the Al Faisaliah project which included the 265m high Al Faisliah tower. Later buildings that Neil was responsible form include the ADIA office tower in Abu Dhabi, Wessex Water Operations Centre and the new aviation facilities for TAG Farnborough. Neil has led the work for BAA in the UK where he has successfully managed a 12 year ongoing relationship with BAA resulting in over £1billion worth of construction at Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
Neil's current role is as Director with overall responsibility for the Bath office. A multi-disciplinary role in leading the work of over 300 engineers and technicians working on projects throughout the world. Neil is a member of the European Board for Buro Happold, represents the partnership on the LLP council and is a Happold Trust Trustee
